What to do in Destin, Florida on the Water. Pontoon Boats

If you are looking to stay close to shore and still enjoy Destin’s main attraction, one of the ways is to gather your family or friends, a cooler, frisbee, or football and rent a pontoon boat.  La Dolce Vita pontoon rental located on Destin Boardwalk right next to Destin Beach Parasail’s booth has the boat for you.  Better known to some as a party barge these boats are ideal for fun in the sun.  They hold up to twelve sunbathers and have plenty of room for snacks and picnic baskets. Not interested in picnics?  The area has many places to stop for lunch.  Nothing is better than pulling up to a restaurant tying up the boat and going in for lunch.  Crab island has a few choices for lunch, anything from pizza, hamburgers, hotdogs, grilled mahi mahi sandwiches, even a place for sandwich wraps.  Other stops around Destin are Dewey Destin Seafood market and grill, Crab Island Cantina, Margaritaville, and many other yummy places.

Crab Island is the premier destination for both locals and visitors alike.  In the winter when the sun moves south of the equator to the tropic of capricorn and closer to the earth it draws away some of our water exposing itself just enough to be home to several types of gull, and the brown pelican, which was recently removed from the endangered species list.  In the summer the water depth is anywhere from six inches deep to six feet deep creating a perfect home to sunbathers coming to marinate in the clear salt water and sun.  If Crab Island doesn’t suite your needs you can tour the area´s waterways, see the homes along the network of canals in Destin Harbor, or stop at Norriego point at the mouth of Destin Harbor.  Norriego point offers a place to stop and enjoy the best of boating and the beach.

Looking to get away from all the boats? Head to Okaloosa Island’s bay side beaches and enjoy the peaceful tranquility only to be found from the water.  La Dolce Vita pontoon rentals offers a two hour sunset rental Thursdays during the summer season so visitors can enjoy the weekly fireworks display and air show with an unobstructed view.  Rent for a four hour half day or an eight hour full day and look at Destin Beach Parasail’s other fun stuff section to get a link or phone number for their contact information and book your ticket for fun under Destin’s sun.
